The Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion is a building in of Mysore city, Karnataka. It is placed in the green surroundings of the Manasagangothri, which are the grounds of the University of Mysore. It climbs on a hillock on the west side of Kukkarahalli Kere lake. The Jayalakshmi Vilas Mansion houses a display center of extremely valuable accumulations of antiquities. The Karnataka government characterizes it as a legacy structure and heritage site. The prestigious mansion was built in 1905, throughout the time of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, for the princess Jayalakshmi Ammani, the eldest girl of the Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar, at an expense of Rs. 7 lakhs. The area was purposefully decided to be on top of a modest hillock above the Kukkarahalli lake. It was basically called the First Rajkumari Mansion. The primary princess Jayalakshmi, was wedded to Sirdar M. Kantharaj Urs in 1897.
