The Krishna Raja Sagara, a.k.a KRS, is the name of both a lake and the dam that spans and safeguards it. It is spotted near the settlement of the province of Krishnarajasagara. The dam is built crosswise over Kaveri River, in Mandya District close to provincial Mysore in Karnataka state, India. There is a fancy enclosure joined to the dam, called Brindavan Gardens. The dam was constructed crosswise over waterway Kaveri, the nurturing stream for the Mysore and Mandya regions, in 1924. Apart from being the primary wellspring of water for watering system in the mostly populated Mysore and Mandya, the water supply is the principle wellspring of drinking water for all of Mysore city and practically the entire of Bangalore city, the capital of the state of Karnataka. The water discharged from this dam is further utilized as a paramount wellspring of water in the state of Tamil Nadu, which has its own particular Mettur dam in the Salem region.

• Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya served as the head designer throughout the development of this dam. The dam is named after the presiding leader of the Mysore Kingdom, Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV.
