  • Small but good place to learn about his life. Entrance is not free

Small museum which honors and introduces life of Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto through the display of his letters and calligraphies (all in Japanese.) I was so amazed by his calligraphies and his personality as intelligent, thoughtful and compassionate person. Admiral Yamamoto was well known as a person who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor but I didn't know he was against starting war. One of the main displays of this Memorial is real remains(left wing) of the Admiral's transport bomber aircraft which was shot down by US fighter aircraft through the Operation Vengeance. Very little English information but worth visiting this Memorial.

  • It's very good musium. I always wanted to go there. His replica home where he grew up is also near by.
