  • Leopards and tigers feature strongly in this zoo. The zoo is very close to the city and most of the animals and birds are native to the area. Flowers, scrubs and trees attract birds and butterflies, again local to the area . There are lots of great photo areas so get the camera clicking . Plenty of sitting areas too. We enjoyed the shaded areas and the cafe. Tea is wonderful and so refreshing. Children love it. Close to the animals and lots of play areas. Not too expensive.

  • A wonderful zoological garden for everyone. Specially for children to enjoy lot by physical view of animals. The most attractive is white tiger to view from safety glass. The different foods are available here, tea- coffee- packed water. Drinking water taps are places different locations. Pay toilets are also available there. The snake park is one of the most important attracting place. Now you can by online ticket before entry to avoid long line for paper tickets.

  • The zoo is fantastic place to visit..but what most people don't know is that the high altitude doesn't get over when you reach the zoo but the entire zoo is increasing height (chhadhai) which is very difficult for people. Lots of travelers turn up to the zoo but only 10% actually make it to the leopard and the tiger spots in the zoo. Me being an asthmatic couldn't bear the altitudes and finally gave up but my husband did manage to complete the whole zoo... Bravo!!

  • This zoo is perfect as you can see a lot of animals in perfect condition and good environment. All animals seems to be in good condition and properly fed. The tiger and the mountain lion is the main attraction there.

  • Better to take a shuttle that will drop you and pick up from the zoo gate for a minimum fare of Rs 10/- per trip. For the more adventurous.. looking to burn a few calories, you can opt to walk. But that involves narrow lines and climbing lots of steps. Overall good experience. Found lots of free ranging birds as well as many beautiful caged ones. There are leopards and Royal Bengal tiger along with Himalayan black bear, sambar, mountain goats and many other mammals. Zoo opens at 10 AM. Canteen is located just outside zoo gate - offers a variety of snack items.
