Char Dham - Review

If you are in Namchi for holy visit, you cannot give a miss to this famous holy place, Char Dham. Spread over the Solophuk hilltop, this holy place is visible from a distance because of the 33 meters high Lord Shiva statue, towering over Dham. According to the locals, Char Dham is said to be one of the important holy destinations for Hindu pilgrimages. Legend says, during Kurukshetra war, Arjuna worshipped Lord Shiva on this mountain. Being pleased by his prayers, Lord Shiva appeared in a form of a hunter and blessed him. This ultimately led to the win of Pandavas over Kauravas in the war.

The statue of Lord Shiva signifies his presence over this mountain.

  • Eternal Peace - The perfect description of this place.😍 You Would definitely get a perfect chill here.. Numerous temples with well managed System. U must consider this place if In Sikkim. The Place is perfect combination of all elements😉

  • A huge area containing every god that you can think off, every god that you might not have visited or would have wanted to visit. Quiet peaceful considering the number of people present in the campus at any given time. Definitely a place worth visiting

  • This is a very good place of Hindu people. This place is full Temples of all over India. Located in good place. I like this place very much. This is temple city of Sikkim. If you go for Sikkim trip please visit this place please. Parking facility also available and hotel is also available there for lunch and dinner. Very peaceful area. This is meeting place of God and Goddess.

  • A bit like a Hindu amusement park, it was difficult to feel much sincere reverence / devotion. The structures were more garish than elegant or beautiful. Many of the buildings were constructed from artificial man-made materials unfortunately. On a clear day it might have great views, but was overcast when I was there. There is even an "entrance fee" of 50rp in case you were not sure where you are.

  • Not sure if this is a place for tourist who wants to see the local and ancient places but this place has been built quite nicely and view from the top is just amazing. Everywhere you go you have to play ticket. here it's 50/-. Dont buy anything here as they'll charge you more. Buy at the local market place down the hill.
