Since its establishment in 2005, the prime aim of the Nanjing Museum of Palaeontology is to enhance the people’s knowledge regarding the fossils. The framework of the building possesses a great historical importance as it preserves the heritage of ancient architectural style. It has the highest collection of fossilized plants and invertebrates among all other Palaeontology in the world. Some of the rare fossils which can be found here are Chengjiang fauna, River Breeders and Chinese Dragon Bird. There is a library in the campus of Nanjing Museum of Palaeontology where researching is allowed.
