Like its name, the Egan Maritime’s Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum is one of the unique attractions in Nantucket Island. Dedicated to the history of shipwrecks along the coast of Nantucket, Egan Maritime Museum was established after a thoughful vision by Bob Caldwell in 1967. Within next 2 years, the museum was ready and today, here you can hear the soul-stirring stories of the islanders who lost their lives while rescuing others. With the help of over 5,000 artifacts and various models, the museum takes you back to the old coastal history.
