    This exquisite marble statue was mostly likely sculpted between the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC, when Egyptians were a common sight in the city. It was lost, restored centuries later, damaged, parts were stolen…it’s had an interesting time. But the final restoration 2014 left it as a old man, naked and bearded, lying on waves and hanging out with a lion and a sphinx.
