Limone - Review

This distillery is famous throughout the country for the unique liquors - rucolino (arugula), finocchietto (selvatic fennel) and the most famous of them is the limoncello, a liqueur made from verdello lemon. It’s a traditional family recipe, handmade, and the same lemon is used to make many other products - pasta, olive oil. Check their website for the full catalogue. There are a lot of great treats here.

  • The shop keeper was so friendly and had great jokes. He gave us a quick but informative tour of his shop (in english) and then we got to taste either the normal limoncello or the creme limoncello. We ended up buying a bottle for a gift and a bottle for ourselves and he bubble wrapped them nicely and accepted credit card payment. I was excited to get limoncello from somewhere that it's made, not just from another tourist shop!

  • Was pretty disappointed. I'd read reviews about great staff and getting to try some before you brought it etc but when I dragged by boyfriend across town to go today, it wasnt great. Small, with a shop keeper who seemed annoyed to have customers. She tried to rush through the customers in front of us, and us too. I saw her begrudgingly give a tasting to the people in front of us, but not to us. We brought some of the lemon pasta, the chocolate and the melon creme liqueur - all very nice. But having brought limoncello in Naples before, I know there are better experiences out there so will be going back to old favourites next time.

  • This little family factory located in Via dei Tribunalli makes some delicious limoncello. The staff was glad to show us around and afterwards gave us some limoncello and limoncello cream to try. It was so tasty that we bought a small bottle that we could take in our carry on bag. A must try!

  • Best Limoncello I have ever drunk. I am not into sweet liquors and this shop sells a type of limoncello made of green lemons I am very fond of.

  • Great selection of lemon products, and lovely staff!
