About Piazza Del Gesu Nuovo, Naples
Three prominent monuments are behind this square’s fame - The Church of Gesu Nuovo, The Church of Santa Chiara, and The guglia of the Immaculate Virgin (Obelisco dell'Immacolata).. The last is a spire, a plague column, one of the three in the city, built to urge the Virgin to protect the city from the disease. It’s an ornate Baroque work that took many decades to complete and was completed in 1750. Every 8th of December firemen decorate the Virgin with a wreath of flowers. The square is one of the most beautiful in the city.

Just loved to go to this place when we are home!!! Cozy place delicious food and pizza. Right place for family couple or group of friends.
Beautiful church. It is deceiving from the outside as it looks a bit grubby but inside it's amazing. You can also see St Guissepho there. It is important to be respectful there as people are praying there when you visit.
Not much to do here other than the tower, the plaza square, and a nearby church. Still a good place for some photos.
The place is surrounded by 2 churches. THEY ARE BOTH AMAZING ! You MUST visit them ! On the front wall of Gesù Nuovo you can see some old music notes on the little pyramides. All of them are actually a symphonie. Thanks to locals, I would have never guess.
Nice historical spot. Several restaurants and a big impressive monument in the middle of the square. The monastery is close.
