This commune is part of the volcanic Flegrean Islands, in the Gulf of Naples. It’s surrounded by clear waters, has cute pastel colored houses, and is fun to walk around.. The earliest dated settlements here were at least from 1500 AD, but may have been older. This island has a rich history, and was made famous mostly thanks to the works of novelists who made it the setting of their stories. Check the island’s event and festival calendar - there is a lot going on during the year. Highlights to check out on the island:
- Marina Grande: See the Palazzo Montefusco XII
- The wooden crucifix of 1845
- No. 10, the erstwhile hotel Victory.
- Martyrs Square: location of the 17th century revolution, with the monument dedicated to Antonio Scajola.
- 17th century Church of the Madonna delle Grazie.
- 16th century Church of San Leonardo
- The ancient well at piazza della Repubblica.
- The Sea Museum
- Terra Murata Village

Beaches and restaurants are okay. But the roads are a nightmare. Cycling and walking are dangerous. I would only consider a holiday there if cars were banned.
Encompassing just 1.6 square miles, Procida is the smallest island in the Bay of Naples, and visitors often bypass it in their rush to see nearby Capri and Ischia. But if you prefer your villages in Italy sans crowds, consider hopping on the Procida ferry from Naples. With its vibrantly coloured buildings overlooking a picture-perfect harbour, the island is a photographer’s dream. Climb to the Terra Murata, the highest and oldest point on the island, where you’ll find crumbling ruins and magnificent.❤
Cute little island. Came here from Ischia to check it out and it was easy to walk through and explore. Beautiful views from the top sites. People are friendly and hospitable.
One of my Favorite places to spend time to unwind and not be around the clouds of a large city. People are genuine and true. Small tone fearing with shops and bakeries to explore. If you are sailing there are 2 harbors, one on the East side and one on the West side that are very comfortable for over nights.
The island got some charm but if you ask us, it was not that pleasant. Some beaches are nice. What we found most difficult was the roads and the traffic. The people on this island like to build fences 2,50 meters tall all over. Narrow streets and fast traffic is a bad combination. Sorry Procida.
