Royal Palace (Palazzo Reale), the heart of Naples is located in the downtown. Situated on the largest square of Naples i.e. at Piazza Plebiscito the palace offers a cordial welcome to the travelers. The palace itself has contributed a lot to enrich the magnificence of the nearby area. Built in the 1600s it when Naples was under the reign of Spanish, it is an interesting sight to see. The royal apartments can be reached by a majestic double staircase and the palace is lavishly furnished.
Inside the palace you will see the striking Cappella Reale (Royal Chapel) with the nativity scene of Naples of the 18th century. The sculpture is just brilliant. See a great Palace without being crushed. Forget Versailles, this Palace is far more elegant. The staircase also amazing. 6 Euro and no lines. Places to sit and contemplate life. No air conditioning so go on a cool day.
This building is really amazing. While it can be quite difficult initially to find the entrance (to the side, walk a bit inside to get to a ticket office, there are no clear signs), it is definitely worth it to check it out, also since the main rooms are free entrance. The white, marble stairs in the hall are really majestic, just standing on them immediately makes you feel important, yet small in comparison. The rooms are also really beautiful and it's very interesting to look at all the decorations and furniture. As someone who is interested in history, yet not very knowledgeable in it, I enjoyed it quite thoroughly.
So beautiful. One of the best palace I have seen in Europe. It is art in every details
This palace is situated at the old administrative square, facing the gorgeous bay of Naples. I just wish that monuments such as these try and open up more sections whenever possible. Also, I majorly appreciate them having audio guides in languages other than Italian. Just know that the museum office will keep your ID with them for as long as you are in the museaum with the audio guide.
Beautiful palace. Only a few rooms were open due to renovations, but they were exceptional.
