Originally a 16th century Dominican monastery this church is now more famous for its location right above the Catacombs of San Gaudioso. That said, it’s certainly pretty. Noticeable for its green and golden majolica dome on the outside, the church’s interiors are even more arresting with tonnes of pure Baroque frescoes painted on the inside - they are some of the best Neapolitan art in the city. There’s a 17th century marble pulpit, an early 18th century organ, a 5th century chapel.

Impressive I will never forget St Gaudioso catacombs
Great tour of catacombs and church. Very engaging and interesting - seems like great work being done here. Ticket includes tour of Catacombe di San Gennaro. Catacombs here are very different to them. A local wedding was on, too!
Closed. Open hours are strange and it IA very dirty around.
Beautiful church with a catacomb hidden below. We had the opportunity to witness a local couple's wedding here too
Chiesa molto bella.
