Walking through Piazza San Domenico Maggiore you will find a road known as the Spaccanapoli. The name “Spaccanapoli” implies a road that divides the old locality of Naples. In the ancient times Neapolis the old Greek City of Naples used to be located here. The same narrow alleys can be found in the street which still carries the history of the ancient times. This street is one of those three Greek east-west streets which are an interesting part of Naples. Not far from this place you will find the Church of Sant'Angelo a Nilo.
This is where you can see the Cardinal Brancacci tomb which was built by Donatello and Michelozzo and the painting was done by Marco Pino. A small square place Piazzetta Del Nilo is located very close to this church. A Roman Statue which was built as the dedication to the Nile River can be seen here. The true taste of Italian food can be enjoyed if you visit the nearby food kiosks. You can try with sfogliatelle, the special pastry made in Naples. You can do some window shopping here and buy trinkets and souvenirs.
