This is one of the best sightseeing places in Naples. Numerous Roman artifacts can be seen in this museum. The Mosaics hold the history of two centuries BC as they are the part of those mosaics made with the essence of the Vesuvius eruption. The National Archaeological Museum Of Naples, Naples Reviews - Write a Review

  • So much to see and do here! Tickets are available in advance but aren't required. We showed up without Tickets and waited for probably 5 minutes in line. There are free lockers for backpacks which are not allowed inside the museum. I was super sweaty by the end of the visit because my backpack was the only carrying thing I had. I think purses might be allowed. I wish I would have brought one to put my Slim Jims in. #hungry. We were there with our 3 kids and my parents and we needed a lot more time and attention span to cover the entire thing. Still, it's well worth a visit even if you only have a little bit of time. Tip: Don't miss the secret cabinet (or secret room or secret museum depending on who you ask). Unless you've had the birds and bees talk with your kids, make them wait outside. Or, don't but don't say I didn't warn you. No, YOU like that kind of stuff.

  • This was the highlight of my stay in Naples. To be fair, I am archaeologist so I'm a little biased! The museum, whilst quite small, has a wonderful collection. I was truly blown away by the Pompeii display. If you are in the area and going to Pompeii I believe this museum really heightens your experience and understanding of how Pompeii and its people were. There was no line when we got to the museum around 10am and we got in for €6 each because we are under 25 EU citizens. 10/10 would go again!

  • The museum has brilliant and unique objects. The building itself is filthy, had a smashed and taped-up window near to the Alexander mosaic and had peeling paint. The displays are sometimes good and sometimes appalling. Where does the gate taking go? Such a pity that the priceless objects are housed with such neglect.

  • Impressive collection, skillfully presented in a beautiful building. Somehow understated however, and I'm certain they have so much more they could be displaying.. but well worth a visit.

  • It was astonishing. If you wanna know a place you gotta visit the local museum. National Archaeological Museum, Naples is the one you have to see. They have perfect audio guides and lockers for you to put your belongings, which would make your trip more relaxing and enjoyable.
