  • Free First Sunday of the month. Best museum in Naples! Fantastic and amazing. Be sure to go, even worth it at full price. Endless sculptures and very interesting Egyptian collection explaining many aspects. The best is the Pompeii exhibit with carbonized fruit and bread!

  • Beautiful museum. Everything nicely displayed with Italian and English explanation. Beautiful building. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. A bit repetitive, its contents. No coffee shop or something similar. Would be nice to have a sit & drink & snack, in such a nice place?

  • Outstanding "homegrown" art collection in impressive building that graciously survived so many renovations.Roman copies of Greek sculptures of 4 ct BC & Roman emperors' busts are striking. Pompeian frescoes and mosaics are fabulous,so are artistic impressions of ancient city.Rationale behind removing them from original site, was probably,to avoid possible secondary damage.Unfortunately,I did not see Egyptian collection.Visiting time longer than 4 hours is required then.Staff are very friendly, single ticket's price is €12.One will be accosted at the entrance by the wanna be your guides.

  • An incredible experience. The line took about an hour to get in - in late December, but worth the wait. In spite of this, because it's so big, it didn't seem crowded at all. I must say I expected to find the carbonized remains of the Pompey victims there, but there were none. They were all at Pompey, it seems, and I saw some there too, but some were replicas and I didn't know which were real.

  • Just fantastic! A real must to see if you visit either Pompeii or Hurculanium as it brings it all together. I never knew that there was so much that was saved from the sites. Brings the period to life! Loved the mosaics
