The National Archaeological Museum Of Naples - Review
The National Archaeological Museum of Naples holds the best collections of antiquities of the Greek and the Roman eras. The collection has an astonishing variety of objects like mosaics, gems, Roman erotica, sculptures, glasses and more. Most of these things are collected from the nearby archeological excavations. This is one of the best sightseeing places in Naples. Numerous Roman artifacts can be seen in this museum. The Mosaics hold the history of two centuries BC as they are the part of those mosaics made with the essence of the Vesuvius eruption. The figure of the Greek paintings makes the mosaics more unique and eye catching to the travelers.
The secret cabinet found in the National Archaeological Museum had been closed but was reopened in 2000. The frescos kept in the museum are taken from the walls of Pompeii. The frescos are made on a wide range of themes like mythology, scenes of regular life, landscapes and more. A great collection of the Greek and Roman sculptures are found here at this world renowned archeological museum. The ancient Greek and Roman coins are kept in six different rooms. It will surely be a wonderful experience to wander through the museum due to the variety of objects there is to see.

The National Archaeological Museum Of Naples, Naples Reviews
This was a pit stop for us to wait for a pizzeria to open. Very interesting selection of work and statues. Disappointed the Egyptian exhibit was closed. Incredible to see the statues so enormous. Also seeing a small version of Pompeii was pretty awesome. The last exhibit that had the painted in eyes was so creepy and lifelike. Easily could spend 2-3 hours in here.
Outstanding "homegrown" art collection in impressive building that graciously survived so many renovations.Roman copies of Greek sculptures of 4 ct BC & Roman emperors' busts are striking. Pompeian frescoes and mosaics are fabulous,so are artistic impressions of ancient city.Rationale behind removing them from original site, was probably,to avoid possible secondary damage.Unfortunately,I did not see Egyptian collection.Visiting time longer than 4 hours is required then.Staff are very friendly, single ticket's price is €12.One will be accosted at the entrance by the wanna be guides.
Very nice frescoes and mosaics. Considering that two towns and many other locations have been excavated, the exhibition fails to give an impression of the daily life of a romantic family. The shown objects are amazing, but the texts are sometimes not translated. The audioguide is good, but could deserve more objects to be described. In any case, the museum is a must see!!
Expansive museum covering Much of the area's history. The museum features exquisite Roman sculpture exhibits as well as an exhibit on Pompeii featuring a very detailed 1:1000 scale (still large) model of the ruins. I think the sculptures alone merit a visit, especially the Hercules sculpture.
Pretty boring, loads of Star Wars stuff which seems a little strange for this kind of Museum 12 Euro each, which is 3 Euro less than visiting the Pompeii site. Half the museum is closed off. The outside has the usual Graffiti you find on most of the Italian buildings in cities. The only interesting part to us was the 3d model of Pompeii. Naples it a complete dump of a city, always felt on edge walking through it. I would advise to avoid at all costs unless you love boring museums where they make absolutely no effort.
