Naruto Whirlpools are located in the Naruto Strait situated between Naruto and Awaji Island. The popular Manga character Uzumaki Naruto was named after this place, Naruto referring to the whirlpool and Uzumaki literally meaning whirlpool. This whirlpool can be viewed from the Naruto bridge or from one of the tour ships which frequent the area. Large throngs of tourists and locals visit the bridge on a regular basis to experience this spectacular sight. It is unlike any other tourist destination, and the speed of the water is awe-inspiring. Visit this place for a unique experience.

Naruto Whirlpools Reviews & Ratings
We came all the way to these Naruto whirlpools at the wrong time! A sightseeing fail! Travel Tip- Check the tides & plan accordingly To be honest signboards from turnoff should have tide times posted clearly around so guests can hurry or come back later before trekking out to viewpoints IMO (would be big help!) At least we got the obligatory onion chair shot & soft-cream was great! Unfortunately no food options for vegans & vegetarians around - 1 plant-based burger would be great to go with the views, soft-cream (including onion ice-cream!) & lots of fresh onions to take home. Bring your own straws, cutlery & chopsticks to save on single-use waste of plastics. Nice, clean facility to buy foods & souvenirs. Friendly staff. Free parking. Free Wifi.
Unique experience! Usually 2 tides (morning and afternoon) to plan for cruise timing. Took the bigger Naruto Wonder boat. Paid extra JYN1000 for upper deck access and better view.
A must to visit. I feel really excited to watch whirlpools. such a amazing activity. Can drive from Kobe.
Need to check for the tide timings for the best time to view the whirlpools. Also, the small boat is the best for experiencing the force of the whirlpools, and the spray from the sea. However, I think from the bridge, it’s a better view. It’s a good experience.
Didn't get to see much swirls on our day of visit. It is still an interesting cruise though.
