Being an adult can get hard, so be a kid once more. The Adventure Science Centre is a great place to go to pretend to be a kid again. And for those of you that do have kids, this is a great place to take them on a Saturday. The education, the enlightenment, the games, and the hands-on activities are extremely enjoyable. You come out smarter having learnt about space, inertia, force, health, and your bodies. You are in nerd heaven!
Sgt. John Ripley Forbes’ vision for Nashville’s future was concentrated on children. He established the museum in 1944 and in 1945 the Children’s Museum in Nashville was opened to the public. In 2002, it changed its name to Adventure Science Centre. It still creates opportunities for children to learn and have fun.
They have some awesome permanent exhibits:

Adventure Science Centre Reviews & Ratings
Definitely one of our favorite spots to hit while in Nashville! My son absolutely loves it!!!! Tons of exciting interactive exhibits and games. (My son still won’t stop talking about shooting the “germ monster”) he loved pretending to ride in an ambulance and play doctor with the other kids. The moon walking experience is a must!! Sometimes the lines can get long but it’s definitely worth the wait. I couldn’t stop laughing. Climbing to the top and overlooking the city is priceless. Especially if you are from out Of town! (Great photo opportunities) Could easily spend half the day here, longer if you watch the shows.
Absolutely tons of things to do! So much fun with many exhibits. Even the play area is accessible for adults. Which is a really great touch as you can read the plaques up on the wall to your kids if need be. We even saw the night watch at the planetarium which was a great show! Best highlight was walking on the moon simulation for my kids and I.
What a great place to bring you children! There is so much to do! It's a very hands on learning experience and kids love it. The space section is awesome! The moonwalk was a hit with the kids. Climbing to the third floor to have a 360 view of Nashville is breathtaking! The view of the city was perfect. Everyone young and old in our group had a fantastic time visiting the Adventure Science Center. It should be on your must do list!
We were in town while my wife had training for work so my 8 year old daughter and I decided to come here for a day of fun and homeschool. It was definitely a perfect place for an entire day of fun and learning. Loved that there were 3 levels of a wide variety of activities. Wish we could have more time in Nashville to catch some of the other programs and classes they have to offer. Really loved the Subway cafeteria with an ice cream bar. Made for a perfect school style lunchroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful in each area we went to. Also glad to see that had some type of actual security personnel walking around. Just gave me the feeling and impression that the science center cared about the quality of people allowed to be in here around the kids and that they wouldn’t tolerate any misbehaving individuals which made me feel good as a tourist not knowing quality of the area. Abundant and clean restrooms was also very nice. Highly recommend spending the entire day here!!!
What a gem of a museum! We had heard great things about it but our 7 year old LOVED everything about it. She particularly liked the Adventure Tower but really liked the exhibits too. All of the staff was so pleasant and welcoming. We took in a planetarium show as well and it was also fantastic. Highly recommend for school age children!
