Whoever thought junk was beautiful? Mike Wolfe did and he made a living out of it. He has been looking for treasures in the trash and these objects have been calling out to him. His first big find was a pile of bicycles left in his locality during trash day. And soon bottles and other odd stuff found their way to his house.
Initially his love for bicycles led him to open a bicycle store and repair shop. But he continued to pick. Cool vintage bikes made their way to him. By adding Italian scooters to his lot, picking became more than just a hobby. With this in mind, Mike closed his shop and opened the Antique Archaeology. In his shop you can find the following:
- Vintage items
- Folk Art
- T-Shirts and Hoodies
He travels extensively throughout the country. He now shares his experiences on the TV Show American Pickers.

Antique Archaeology Reviews & Ratings
I would like to start by saying my family and I are big fans of the American Pickers show. When we decided that we were taking a long weekend (350 mile trip) to Nashville the one and only place that our 9 year old wanted to go was Antique Archeology. It is located in a pleasant place in town and is easy to get to. But we were heavily disappointed in the pricing of the AA souvenirs. With a family of 5 it just wasn’t feasible to purchase a decent souvenir from the store for each of us. A $25 coffee cup is beyond excessive and was completely disappointing. Desperate to have something that was from Antique Archeology my 9 year old wanted to settle for a small trinket that had a whopping tag of $5. But sadly we had to use it as a financial learning experience on where not to waste and when to look for value. Completely disappointed. Completely.
A dream come true! I love & collect old stuff so when I discovered American Pickers I watched & recorded every episode. And watched it again. Sometimes twice. I love Mike's interaction with all the eccentric (I'm in that category myself.) folks he meets & his genuine interest in their stories as well as their collections. Of course I longed to visit the store, but didn't think I'd ever have the opportunity. Well, I did! It is beyond my expectations. I toured it twice to make sure that I saw every beautifully displayed item. I took about 100 pictures but will spare you. Suffice it to say that you will see many items from the show in this amazing collection of Americana. T-riffic experience!!!!!
Awesome experience! Was so neat to see items that I watched Mike and Frank pick on American Pickers. Bought a few t-shirts and a key chain at reasonable prices. Convenient parking. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again!
Love the show, so it was neat to visit one of the stores. But not as interesting as I was expecting. The merchandise seemed mostly to consist of mass produced souvenir trinkets and lacked the originality as the show portrays. Maybe all the good stuff is at the other location? But it did make a cool photo op, so still worth the trip if you are a fan of the show and find yourself around the Nashville area.
It is a small place. Fun to look at things. Fun to see things I saw on the show. The history of the entire building is cool. If you are in the area, don't skip it. Go check it out.
