I found this place based upon the great Google reviews and I was certainly not disappointed. I was only in town for a couple of days and I just had to come here everyday because the food was just that outstanding! I got the roast beef, turnip greens, cornbread, and spicy chocolate pepper pie one day and I got chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese, and bread pudding the next. I would highly recommend all of these items! The restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly, and I got my food quickly even though the line was out the door. If you're in town definitely give this place a try!
If you're coming to visit Nashville when you get off the plane tell the taxi to take you straighr to Arnold's! I've tried several meats and they were all delicious. The Chicken & Dumplings always hits the spot but you can't go wrong with the roast beef and gravy either; too many options to pick a favorite but make sure you get the rice casserole, it's amazing. Huge bonus points for having the BEST HOSPITALITY IN NASHVILLE. I've never met nicer folks in my life.
Have gone there a 3 or 4 times in the last 3 months and the food has been good. Hopefully, today was an exception. I chose the fried steak with gravy and it was hard as a rock. I have had this before and it was very good. Had a side of cream corn and there was so much sugar that I felt I needed an insulin injection afterwards. It was my first time to have the corn so I don't have anything to compare it to. Pretty sure I won't try it again. I will give Arnold's another try but will likely be done if I have another experience like this..
This was a near religious experience for me. Southern comfort food at its finest. Get there early as the line forms quick. I've never tasted mac and cheese and fried green tomatoes better than this place is got. The roast beef was excellent chess pie excellent can't say enough good wish there was one in my town.
I'm glad I don't live to near Arnold's, would probably be the size of a house. What can I say? This place serves honest, clean, wholesome, comfort food. It's interesting to see all the people come through, this place has a clientele that's wide and varied. I hope to visit sometime again in the future!
