You may not be a great fan of country music but do you support raw talent? If you want to feel intimate music from well-known artists then trust me it’s at Bluebird Café. Songwriters are storytellers and the Bluebird Café is haven for them. All genres of music are performed here. It is known as a listening room based on the acoustics which is their signature style.
On any given night you will find the following artistes:
- LeAnn Rimes
- John Prine
- Jojo Herman
- Widespread Panic
- Billy Kirsch
- Carrie Underwood
Founder Amy Kurland opened the doors of The Bluebird Cafe in June 1982. Kurland planned The Bluebird Cafe to be a gourmet restaurant. She wanted her patrons to enjoy a hearty meal and listen to live music. She added a small sage which would later host some of the world’s greatest songwriters.
Open Mic Nights were added to The Bluebird's schedule. You can sing on stage to your heart’s desire. Nightly performance has three or four song writers seated in the centre of the room. They take turns playing their songs and accompanying each other on instruments.

Bluebird Cafe Reviews & Ratings
If you are going to the bluebird for the menu then you have completely missed the point. Not that it is bad, but you go for the music and the vibe. It feels like an absolute Nashvilles staple, with a writers-in-the-round set up, reasonably priced drinks, and a fine food menu. It is great for couples or small groups, or if you just love music.
Got to play on open mic night and wow people there were so humble and nice to us... Wow what a great time to enjoy different kinds of music and artists... Awesome time!!! Recommend checking this place out for sure!!!
One of Nashville’s treasured spots to hear great music and enjoy some drinks with new friends! I got in line about 3 hours before the 9:30pm show (at least 1 hour before the show might be fine). The staff and people waiting in lines are extremely friendly and you tend to talk to people all over America! Glad I was recommended to visit the Bluebird cafe. It’s nostalgic to watch Nashville and find it they filmed at the bluebird cafe as well!
A dream come true! You have to visit to appreciate the atmosphere! Be sure to take the tour, especially if you're a fan of the TV Show "Nashville". Be prepared to ask the manager questions, after he tells you some very interesting facts about The Bluebird Cafe! If you listen closely, you may learn some little known facts about some big names!
Intimate, organized and really special. Felt like family.. Recommend to sit at the bar... Not a downgrade at all.
