Pancake Pantry, Nashville Reviews
The line moves faster than you'd think. They're always busy on weekend mornings, but that's a testament to the quality of their products. Parking can be a pain, but that's the be expected close to downtown. They serve classic southern food, with both classic options and interesting twists. Everyone can find something they enjoy. I had the blintzes (no not the pancakes) and they were delicious. The vibe in very hole-in-the-wall, 1980s small town country corner store, but that's part of the charm. There is plenty of seating, and people seem to eat and leave (I'm guessing that's what they want to happen). Make sure to speak up when you're in line - a worker will come out and say, "Next party of [two]?" And if you don't answer quickly, a party of two behind you could speak up and pass you. At least that's what happened to us, I guess some people are just so hungry they can't stand to wait their turn. Either way, this is no fault of the restaurant, just a tip to ensure you get some good food as fast as possible.
A great place for pancakes and other brunch or breakfast dishes. The wait was about 20 minutes when we got there, but we got our food quite quickly after we ordered. We polished off everything that my party of four ordered. They especially loved the banana bread pancakes and fruit and yogurt with granola. Overall, we had a good experience. The prices were not too high and there was plenty of paid parking behind the restaurant. I would go back here again.
This place came highly recommended and seeing as how there is always a very long line out the door, we figured it had to be to die for. The sweet potato pancakes were fantastic but the eggs and bacon were not so great. I will say our server was very nice and did a wonderful job! Worth a trip to check it off your list, but I wouldn’t go back. It’s not worth the excessive wait.
All I can say is really WOW WOW WOW..... I am by no means a pancake person nor have I really cared for them . However these would melt in your mouth. I had the regular ones and nothing fancy. Wife had the Sweet Potato ones and loved them. I did the eggs bacon and pancakes. Eggs and bacon would just melt in your mouth leaving me wanting more and more till I did eat too much. Our waiter...... Whom had been there for around 2 years told us all about the history of the place. was outstanding. I will share in case she sees this whomever you were thank you for what you did for me and my wife... And to the waiter please pass this along to her how much it means for us what she did. If you are in Nashville and can get by here please try this place it is truly wonderful and tasty!
Do you like butter? Well you are not alone, so do I and they know how to please! The French toast is a delectable delight. Warm with the perfect amount of crisp. The flavor ranks right up there with how my mom used to make it. The two syrups were both very tasty. The line gets long early on a Sunday, so try and get there early. The kitchen on the day we were there was a tad slow, but they were also very busy. My only regret is that I couldn’t try more of the options!
