It's a must-stop bar, blasting country songs that needs to be a part of your bar crawl. Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge is a Honky Tonk bar located in Nashville. Honky Tonk bar provides country music for entertainment to its patrons. The bar is saturated with the enchanting colour of purple, representing an orchid. Tootsie’s covers modern day country music and other popular Heavy Metal and Industrial. The top floor has an outdoor patio. From here you get an awesome 360 view of Downtown Nashville.

Originally named Mom's, Tootsie Bess bought the bar in 1960. It was changed to Tootsie’s Orchid lounge because of its purple colour. She was known to slip 5’s and 10’s into luckless writers’ pockets. She even had a cigar box full of IOU’s for the hungry writers and pickers.

You can't go home without having stopped in at this piece of music history. Notable works include:

Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Nashville Reviews - Write a Review

  • This is a great place for live music and having a good time. Three floors all work bars and live music acts. Bar serves all kinds of drinks with people from all around the world visiting. It's usually crowded most nights work out of town visitors but a great place to have fun.

  • You can't go wrong here with so many different choices of music on different levels. And by levels I mean different floors. The rooftop seating and view is amazing. Whether you're a tourist or live here Tootsie's is a must-see. The only problem I had we're a couple of racist incidents involving separate incidents by a patron and one of their security guards. Luckily it was just all verbal. Other than a couple of knuckleheads this is a great place to visit and spend some time.

  • Heard any stories about it? Pretty much that plus me. No time to go full review. Just needed to get college bar scene out of mind. Music and drunks- Nashville wins!

  • Historic bar, no cover charge when I went, apparently Jack White was there, I have no idea. It was crowded though. Some lady said my drink was on the house because I was in the military. Friendly environment to the max.

  • **Prefacing this review with the fact I've tried to contact Tootsies twice today via phone to no avail. Answer your phone.** Visited tootsies last night since some friends were in town. Was by far the worst experience I have ever had with management here in Nashville. I was on beer one of two last night close to the left side wall of the back alley bar when I, a 5' 3" female, was shoved to the side. Out of defense I pushed back to find it was a manager (later learned his name was Joel Knight), who was head and shoulders larger than me taking drinks to the trash. He proceeded to give me a dirty look, and once I turned around he poured some of the said drinks onto my back. My friend, who was standing behind me, witnessed the entire altercation. After turning to him again he bullied me out by having one of the bartenders escort me out of the bar. My family has lived in the Nashville area since 1994. I used to hold your bar in very high regard because of its historical aspects. I hope he doesn't treat any of your staff or any of the other customers that way. This has definitely been my most disappointing experience in the Nashville bar scene. Grossly unprofessional and far gone from the Nashville hospitality that is inherent to this place that I call home.
