It's a must-stop bar, blasting country songs that needs to be a part of your bar crawl. Tootsie's World Famous Orchid Lounge is a Honky Tonk bar located in Nashville. Honky Tonk bar provides country music for entertainment to its patrons. The bar is saturated with the enchanting colour of purple, representing an orchid. Tootsie’s covers modern day country music and other popular Heavy Metal and Industrial. The top floor has an outdoor patio. From here you get an awesome 360 view of Downtown Nashville.
Originally named Mom's, Tootsie Bess bought the bar in 1960. It was changed to Tootsie’s Orchid lounge because of its purple colour. She was known to slip 5’s and 10’s into luckless writers’ pockets. She even had a cigar box full of IOU’s for the hungry writers and pickers.

For the most part this place is cool. I went there for the first time in October and they had a really good band playing. The drinks are good and fairly priced. The place itself is a little rugged, not the best looking place but people seem to like it. The bartenders are not the nicest people probably because most people don't tip them. I do, but that's just me. I walked outside the bar and someone flicked a lighted cigarette from the 2nd floor from one of the bars next to it and landed on my arm. There needs to be a law against this. For the idiot person or for flicking cigarettes whichever. So be careful when walking on the strand. There are some stupid people out there. Anyway enjoy yourself and don't get too drunk.
Extremely crowded the night we went but what a great time. Definitely one of my favorite bars on Broadway. There was a great band playing downstairs and an even better band upstairs. Also a very nice rooftop area to see the city.
Amazing music. Front and back bar both had bands at once. Children allowed inside until 7. Which was really cool for my 12 year old C&W fan of a daughter! Will go back every single time we’re in Nashville
Tootsies is still a legend. I love the place. On the one hand, all these old country bars still retain part of what they were. And it is fun to go up on the balconies. But its sad to see people playing other types of music in them. Its Nashville, you know? But I get it. Times change. I guess as long as the original floors never change, its okay.
I thought the entertainment was great so my boyfriend and I went for our last night in Nashville as we thought it would top off the trip, instead I had the most frightening and aggressive bouncer physically grab my boyfriend and I for trying to finish my drink on the side before heading out onto the streets (no open container law). I have never been more terrified by a man in my life as my boyfriend and I are both very passive and understanding people.. i've never experienced something so terrible in my life.
