Anjaneri Hills is known as the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The main attraction would have to be the Anjaneri Fort which can be reached via the Anjaneri village. Trekking is the best way to reach the spot as most vehicles find it difficult to navigate the tricky terrain after a certain point. It also allows tourists to enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of the surrounding landscape.
Another one and a half hour from the village and you will reach the Anjaneri plateau. Caves, Waterfalls and a Healing Lake are some of the sights which one can expect to see along the way. A temple dedicated to the memory of Humayun’s mother is located here and is visited by thousands of devotees every year. It is carved from stone and leads to the Seeta Caves.
The Anjaneri village is famous for the Hanuman Jayanti festival which includes a jatra procession and wrestling matches. Historically significant, the entire area is quite fascinating and a must-visit.
