The Pandavleni caves are a group of 24 caves which were carved between the 3rd and 2nd Century AD. This is definitely a beautiful place to visit. There are quite a few mountaineers and trekkers who frequent the place, especially during the early morning hours. There are steps which lead to the caves. However, some caves are interconnected by stone-cut ladders. While some caves are quite large and possess a few chambers within, there are some which are smaller and intimate. The main cave or the ‘Chaitya’ (prayer hall) is the best of all the caves as it has a beautiful Stupa located within.
Interesting sculptures can be found within. In fact, these viharas served as the meeting ground for a group of Buddhist disciples who would share sermons and meet one another. There are water tanks which have been carved out of the solid rock – a reason why the site has an excellent water management system.

You get a complete view of the Nashik City from the top and if you are a health conscious person then it is a good place for climbing. You may find it adventurous if experimented with different ways other than stairs. The caves give that historic feel which you don't get in history textbooks. It is an awesome picnic spot! Must visit ☺️
Exquisite carvings by Buddhist monks between 1st and 3rd century BC. Rock cut caves which have been numbered from 1 to 24. Proper pathway exists and it should take normally 10-15min to trek up. Ideally one should climb before the sunrise , say 5.30-6.00 am. Plenty of enthusiastic trekkers are seen of all ages. You can have a panoramic view of nashik. Rest room facility is available.
Beautiful historic place with some storage cravings.. With little steps hiking you can get up there to admire beautiful art and city view. Also a good place for photography. (as I'm a photographer too I'll suggest if you're in nashik and you have 2-3 spare hours u must go there).
Amazing place to workout! Any kind of workout, specially yoga! Would suggest to take the forest route as it’s more adventurous and less painful! Good time to go morning 6 am! Serene view! Clean toilets is the plus point!!!
It is a really nice place to visit in the area. It had historical significance and is well preserved. Removing one star from the rating as guided tours or relevant information is missing.
