Saptashrungi devi mandir is a site of Hindu pilgrimage in Vani, Nasik. Devotees from around India visit this place in large numbers throughout the year. Also a hill range, the area offers some stunning sights of the landscape that surrounds the temple. The temple administration is now offering online live darshan during the opening hours of the temple. The live streaming is available for free.

The Saptashrungi devi temple forms an important part of the three and a half Shakti Peethas (the seat of the Hindu Goddess) in Nasik. The presiding Goddess of the temple took the form of Durga to slay the buffalo-demon Mahishasura who was giving the Universe a tough time. After that battle, the Goddess settled here – a sanctum has been created which is closed to public viewing in that exact spot.

The Devi is adorned with precious stones and robes which have been donated by devotees as a thanksgiving offering. There are 500 steps leading to the temple with a community hall and a gallery for devotees to queue up found along the way. The Saptashrungi mata temple will soon have the facility to reach the mandir or temple using funicular trolleys ropeways.

Saptashrungi Devi Temple, Nasik Reviews - Write a Review

  • It's October and I went to this place.!! Due to Diwali vacation I find this place full of people. The environment very chill and comfortable in this little warm weather. Of course you have to climb high to reach the temple but it's worth the effort.

  • Devi mata temple is 65-68 kms (approx) drive from nashik, there is a escalator train service which is WIP, for now one would have to reach temple through straight walking stairs. While coming down I realized it was one of the difficult climbs I made till date without running out of breath, it is the devine power that gives strength to walk all the way to the temple.

  • Nice place and wonderful climate. It is one of the Shakti Peth and hence revered in and around Nashik. All vehicles are allowed till hill top, from there you can go by climbing approximately 400 steps. Ropeway service is still unavailable. Normally you won’t find this place crowded and serenity can be assured.

  • Temple is amazing. Carry a bag and keep prasad inside as the nuisance of monkeys are very high. Dry run for cable car is taking place now. Not sure when they would be open for public. It would certainly help senior citizens and people with special needs. Half the distance from Nasik to Saptashinghi is pathetic. Total distance is 64 kms. It took more than 2 hours. Either have a strong back or travel by a SUV.

  • Saptshrungi devi temple situated on the top the rock mountain. Very nice and holi place. Facility of rope way also available.
