Someshwar Temple - Review

The Someshwar Temple is located in a quiet corner of Nasik, just near the mighty River Godavari and is around 700 years old, constructed during the reign of Shivaji. The temple is visited by throng of people throughout the year offering prayers and offerings to Lord Shiva. The temple premise also possesses a boating club and a small children’s park providing recreation. There is a waterfall located just 2 kms from the temple which serves as a good picnic spot. The temple has always been maintained by the government to conserve its heritage value. The beautiful riverfront is a great place to relax and watch the sun set.

Someshwar Temple, Nasik Reviews

  • It is a very beautiful place from religious point of view as well as nature point of view with thick shadows of surrounding trees. Temples and surrounding is well maintained but beyond the temple premises it is shabby. Although it had some children play area, mini scale toy train for kids, boating facility is fine but the steps to it are very steep specially for seniors. There is one nice Gazebo with river view but very shabby surrounding.

  • Good to visit in monsoon, religeouly very imp place and peacefully you can take darshan as well enjoy your day here with can take ride of boat..for ride you have to pay 200 per person..

  • Great place for relaxation. There's also a river adjacent to the place where people enjoy boating.

  • Temple of shiva is so beautiful and nearby surrounding is attractive, beautiful. Waterfall is wonderful and boating is good.

  • The ambience is very soothing, shrouded amidst trees and sitting on the banks of a Godavari tributary. The place offers an opportunity of boating, making this place not just a worship place but also good for a family outing. No tickets for entry, you only need to pay for the boating and parking, which is quite reasonable.
