Whether or not you want to visit any museums in this beach town, the Museu Camara Cascudo is one you must not miss out on. Easily one of the most comprehensible museums on natural history and anthropology, the Rio Grande do Norte is well represented here through the ages. The dinosaur fossils are the most visited exhibits followed by the jangada rafts that were made by the local fishermen.
The museum has also dedicated a lot of space to recreations where you can actually descend down to the caves and see for yourself how excavations are carried out; visit a salt mine and revisit many of the state’s archeological sites.

This is an amazing place to bring kids!
Really cool museum with free entrance. In January'18 there was 2 exhibition rooms with biology themes( evolution of birds, compared anatomy of mammals), 1 presenting the history of sugar production in the State and 1 photographic exhibition of a prison. The only cons are that there's no English(or any other language but portuguese) captions and the lack of interaction.
