Barozzi tower is a magnificent structure located at the heart of the village Filoti. The imposing structure was built around 1650 and carries a vestige of that era when Naxos was ruled by Venetian duke. The place got its name from the same ruler- Duke Barozzi as he had an infamous repute for being an oppressive ruler back then. The tower house was built in the 17th century and have survived many raids and renovations since then. Visiting the tower, you will find a watermill in the courtyard which is open to the public and easily accessible. Great for a family outing and a peaceful respite.
