The Neil Island- tiny, beautiful nature’s retreat located on the south of Andaman Islands on the East Coast of India. The Island is located at a distance of 37 kilometres from Port Blair. It serves as an ideal holiday destination for tourists. The sea encircling the island is shallow and full of colourful corals. Neil Island is also known as the vegetable bowl of Andaman as it is here that the local vegetables are cultivated and supplied to other islands. The beaches are popular for their hammocks under shady trees. The beaches have been named after the mythical characters of the epic Ramayana like Bharatpur, Laxmanpur, Sitapur, Ramnagar by the locals.

Unlike most of the islands in the Andaman Group, Neil has a flat terrain. The island is also comparatively small with an area of 19 sq. kilometres. The breathtaking view of sea and the lush greeneries in the island is really rejuvenating and enjoyable for enthusiastic travellers. Owing to its beauty, it is often regarded as a divine place on earth.
