Perhaps you’d like to get away from the bustle of the town on a hot day (not that Nelson is ever noisy). Maybe you’d like to set up an easel and paint in peace. Or simply come out with our family for a lively picnic. This is the place to go. There ponds and ducks in those ponds. There’s an elephant (we’ve no idea why).  There’s an obelisk, and lots beautiful green grass and colourful flowers. The garden is frequently used for parties, funerals, weddings and pretty much any even of notes.

  • This is such an awesome venue. So many options for your wedding or event.

  • Lovely gardens with very interesting and uncommon species

  • It's such a beautiful place and so peaceful !

  • I have to say I like it as we were just there making some arrangements for our wedding we are having there. Beautiful gardens and love the ducks esp the baby ones. Someone mentioned the not Walker friendly. We had our wedding there last week and there is a packed track from the rhododendron walk. If you go through the Australian garden you can enter the rose pergolas area. We had a family member present and to the main pond he was all good.

  • Nice to visit would be even beta in the spring/summer.
