Steam Into History Reviews & Ratings
It was very educational. I had a difficult time getting on and off the train. We went to the cowboy weekend event and the supposed food trucks consisted of a snowball truck and a hot food stand . I really recommend the Italian restaurant near the gift shop. Very good cuisine and amazing staff🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The train is beautiful, and as you pull out of the adorable town, people smile and wave to send you off. The wooded path that you take runs parallel to a popular biking trail, and the history is rich and interesting. The scenery is beautiful and the ride relaxing. You can't help but smile the entire time, sitting in your comfy seat, looking out of the authentic period windows. My only complaint is that I thought that it would be moving faster. The train does not move terribly quickly and bumps and clacks, which I got into eventually, but was not what I was expecting having been on modern trains. 9/10 would recommend though. Especially if you have spent some time locally. We passed through the towns, past Glenn Rock Mill Inn which we had been to for a romantic dinner, and Jackson House Bed and Breakfast, which we had stayed at. Overall, a beautiful, romantic way to end a wonderful journey.
Great replica. Incredible. Nice to see a real old west style train. They keep steam trains alive. Me , my wife ,son ,daughter, have been going on train rides for 20 years . I'm happy to continue a family tradition of nostalgia with my grandson(4yrs old). Great work everyone.
Great fun for the whole family! My wife and I went for the rail fan day and were not disappointed! The ride was entertaining in and of itself but the best part was the wonderfully rich and vibrant history of the Railroad told to you as you ride. Much more comfortable seats than I expected on such an old train.
If you are on a tight schedule, are traveling or have a sick child, be aware that there is a no refund policy if you need to cancel your tour. The Wild West Train Ride is fun and enjoyable for both adults and children. The actors are into their parts and the interaction between the bandits and good guys is fun. There are a number of different scenarios to entertain. Happy to pose for pictures, too. The Board Of Directors should change the no refund policy as this is a worthwhile tourist attraction, but will be a turn off to many travelers to our area.
