With a 1847 lighthouse adding to its charm, the Lighthouse point park is a beachfront park that is popular among swimmers and avid bird watchers. The park cover an area of 82-acres and is loved for its nature trails that twirl around the beautiful landscape.

An Antique carousel at the park built in 1916, is a piece of art in itself with hand-carved horses, miniature steamboats, sailing ships, lighthouses and mermaids. Owing to its vivid colour and art, the carousel is a favourite among children. The beautiful grounds along with the spacious picnic area, a bird sanctuary and the panoramic view of the Long island Sound and the coast of New Haven, pull you in a world of the simpler times. The place does have a staff of lifeguard to monitor the beaches and to make swimming here safe.

Owing to its gorgeous location, the Lighthouse point park is also a favoured wedding venue. And on any other day, you can still come here for an early morning jog, an afternoon sunny walk or for a relaxing picnic during summers.
