Exciting tour to find out the details of Mardi Gras festival and information regarding how the floats and decorations are made. Watching the actual decorations being made was pretty neat. Pretty in-depth tour though I believe it’s a bit expensive. Check out the free shuttles to take you from Downtown or French Quarter. That was pretty neat.
Pretty interesting to see how the floats are made and warehoused. Nice to have the shuttle to pick you up. Not my first choice of what to see in New Orleans, but if you checked everything else out, it's worth learning about these floats. Watching the artists at work was cool!
See the magic of Mardi Gras without the crowds! Mardi Gras world is where it all happens behind the scenes. Mardi Gras is a year round venture. Floats are constantly being created by some of the best artists in the world, and they convene on this location to create the incredible spectacle that you see every year. Did you know that Mardi Gras Day is always the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent? Mardi Gras World is conveniently located next to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Downtown on the Mississippi River.
This museum might be slightly off the beaten path, but it is sure worth the trip! Great view of the Mississippi River and they provide transportation to and from most the major hotels! Great way to learn about some New Orleans history! Tickets are reasonable. Friendly staff. Recommend!
I recommend all tourists go to Mardi gras world at least one time. The tour is very interesting and educational, but moreover fun! My only complaint was building was cold, so bring a sweater if you're going in the winter or fall if it's nippy outside. They also have a free shuttle that will pick you up at certain places. It made getting there very easy since we didn't have a car.
