The Buckner Mansion of New Orleans is so much more than what meets the eye. Featuring in the famous television series The American Horror Story, the mansion has been an attraction for all the viewers. But this popularity is not only because of this exposure. It is famous for its history, and more importantly, the paranormal activities that take place here.

The mansion was built by Henry Sullivan Buckner in 1856. It comprises of forty-eight fluted columns, three ballrooms, intricately designed unique cast iron fence and galleries. This 3-story manor is as large as 20,000 square feet. The Buckner Mansion is allegedly haunted by Miss. Josephine, who served the family as a governor, midwife, and a slave till the end. People claim to have seen her on the stairs and her room. The sound of sweeping, and the inexplicable smell of lemons has been observed. The mansion is way ahead when it comes to poltergeist activity too. Lights are seen fluctuating, doors opening and closing and chandeliers swinging all by themselves for hours together.
