The Fair Grounds Race Course is home to Louisiana Derby and you will find locals rooting for their favourite horses. The place has cash drawing severy hour on Saturdays and this is the peak time to grab a seat to see and feel the energy of the place.
Other than horse racing, you can also see Ostrich or Zebra racing here- which is quiet unique to derby racing but is worth the visit. The in-house clubhouse adds to the whole experience.

Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, New Orleans Reviews - Write a Review
Went my first time about a week ago. Was given $15 free play automatically for being a new member. Was given an extra $10 after providing additional info later on. Went in, got free play, sat down at a nickel machine and loaded free slot play and won $153.00. I'd say that's a WIN! Definitely going back!
This is top quality race track. Very clean as we went through the Stables and Facilities it was very nice.
Food is pricey, but worth every penny. Exotic animal races not what i expected but overall my family had a good time.
I go every year for the music and crawfish bread. This was my daughter's first year and we will make this our annual "must do". Although my daughter's main objective was to watch Maroon 5, it was nice to see her dancing around to the different types of music.
Went there on my husband birthday had a nice time
