  • This tour is nothing short of amazing. Mr Waters and Mr Suber took my family reunion to the next level with this tour. From the snacks provided along the tour to the lunch at Xavier University. This tour provided our family with little known information and a wealth of knowledge. From the time I decided to do the tour Mr Wayers was accessible and helpful in anyway. We definitely loved this tour and would be interested in issuing them the next time we are in NOLA.

  • I went on the tour African Life in the French Quarter and it was excellent! I already want to do the other tour about 1811 Slave Revolt. The City of New Orleans in which I have been living for five years looks absolutely different after knowing the history that is in every stone around us. It is very interesting tour that shows you not only the past history but also the history that we are making every day and give you a chance to be more conscious about it and do your best to change it. I recommended it to families, couples, lonely travelers, and everybody!

  • Mr. Leon Waters is an exceptional scholar, educator and guide. He is knowledgeable, accessible, and an absolute joy to work with. Perhaps most importantly, he will introduce to critical history that is essential to understanding New Orleans.

  • We travel a lot and take tours wherever we go so we have been on many tours over the years. This is definitely the best tour we have ever taken. It should be mandatory for everyone that visits New Orleans. Leon has an encyclopedic amount of information about New Orleans. He has a very progressive perspective, so if you don't want to hear the truth about slavery, politics and the history of New Orleans, this is not the tour for you. If you want the well documented truth, you should definitely take this tour. Leon is very personable and an excellent narrator and story teller. He makes you feel like you are living the history. We really like how he integrated some of his own personal and family history into the narrative. He will take you to places and tell you things that no other tour will cover or they will not tell you the truth. The fee is a real bargain. We highly recommend this tour.

  • Mr Leon gave my 14 year old daughter and me one of the most interesting and engaging tours I have been on anywhere. He used well known and more hidden landmarks to weave an engaging narrative of New Orleans history that would otherwise not have been evident. He made sure to include interesting topics for my daughter and customized a tour of the 9th ward as well as the French quarter. He provided copies of maps and original documents which were fascinating and I shared with my daughters school. I was extremely pleased and can not recommend this company more highly!
