  • Great cocktails in a unique setting. The carousel lounge is a sight to behold. You will have to admire a far sadly because the carousel can only seat so many people. You either wait patiently for someone to leave or get lucky. Fortunately there's not a bad seat in this place. A bit upscale, no dress code I believe, but you will look out of place in t-shirt and shorts so if you don't mind they won't say anything.

  • Great decor and New Orleans feel! Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping overall did a wonderful job but threw away some items we really needed. We had toilet issues that were resolved pretty quickly, so shout out to maintenance! Room didn't have microwave which was pretty disappointing. But great location!

  • Quiet, comfortable hotel near the center of the French Quarter. 30 minutes by taxi from the airport. Attentive and friendly staff. I was only in and out, a single night, but a night in a place with character is so much more pleasant than one in the typical chain hotel. Oh, and a well equipped gym and pool. I would certainly go back on a future visit to New Orleans.

  • Great stay. I highly recommend this hotel. It's close to great restaurants, museums, cute shops and so much more. Service is fabulous. Rooms are comfortable but small. Beds are super cozy.

  • NOT A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL. The ONLY reason I chose to stay here was to have a New Orleans experience over a Ritz or W Hotel which is where I would normally select to stay with my pet. I travel about once a month with my dog and have never had an issue. The bar manager Kelly, was beyond rude, ill-mannered and uncultured. My fiance, mother, dog (Caribou) & myself stayed here for 5 nights, which was 5 nights too many and we actually left early since Kelly told me I was welcome to leave the hotel. Caribou had been within the lounge area of the Carousel Bar a few nights with no issues. However, Kelly brought out food to us one evening- her tone, attitude and demeanor were completely impolite. Caribou was sitting in my lap sleeping, Kelly pointed at her and said " you're lucky I don't make you leave since your dog needs to be on a leash" dropped our plates and walked away. I am lucky? My dog for one is a registered service animal and also my dog was on my lap asleep doing nothing and she is a 4 lb yorkshire terrier. Obviously I was not okay with the way I was spoken too and said "There is no reason to be rude." She then came back over and told me I was welcome to leave the hotel. I understand policies and rules but there is no excuse for inconsiderate behavior. The next night she had the audacity to tell my mother and fiance that my dog couldn't have a bowl of water because it was "unsanitary." This is when I went to hotel management. Charles, the hotel manager, provided a dog bowl for me with a branded Hotel Monteleone dog bowl, which I was confused about since clearly this is NOT A PET FRIENDLY hotel. He asked how he could comp me or make the situation right, and I said "courtesy is all I am asking for." I asked for NOTHING else. I was in NOLA to seek out a wedding venue and this is definitely not the place I would have my guests be a part of nor will we have any block out option for our guests to stay here. We did take Kelly's advice and leave the day after, went to another hotel that welcomed us and Caribou. I have advised my wedding guests (200+ people) to not go to the Carousel Bar or stay at the Monteleone after my awful experience. I have never been more disgusted with unmannerly etiquette while traveling with my pet. Pictures of my unruly & unsanitary dog are below.
