Friendly/ helpful staff. Beautiful hotel! Warm room. It was in the 40’s during my visit. Good location. I would stay again
I was already super pumped to stay here being that the originals (TV show) did some shooting here. Got there around 12pm thinking that I wouldn't be able to check in until 4pm. Well, keann at the front desk was able to check us in immediately. She was such a doll with a bright personality! Not to mention she had a great sense of humor and had such knowledgeable information about the city. Eric helped us up to our room taking care of our baggage, while explaining the history of the place. He too, was such a kind gentleman with a smile that would light any dark room. The both of them made me feel at home before I even got to my room. Nonetheless, my room was beautiful and had the character I was expecting. 🖤🖤🖤thank you!
What a little gem of a hotel. I just loved it. The mattress needed to be replaced but wasn't that a big deal since we only slept in the bed for a few hours. I would stay in the hotel again but would request a bottom floor for a longer stay since there is no elevator. I gave a 4 because of the mattress comfort, squeaky coils, and a hole in it. But otherwise a fantastic stay.
My husband and I came to New Orleans for a quick get away. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Royal and highly recommend it to anyone. The rooms were clean and just what we were looking for but the service was outstanding! Erick, the bellman / security was so amazing and helpful. Plus, you can’t beat how close it is to everything. We only had to Uber to and from the Airport. Otherwise, everything was within walking distance.
Do not be fooled by the virtual tour of the Hotel Royale. They are are rooms that have no windows, no smoke alarms, and no visible means of escape if there is a fire. After spending one sleepless night in such a room, we requested a new one. Our second room was on the ground level facing the courtyard. What a difference! Just remember to ask for a balcony or court yard facing room. The staff was wonderful especially the desk clerk Ashaki Carter, who cheerfully helped direct us to places to eat and how to get there. Her charming manner would be an asset to any hotel in which she worked. The hotel is in walking distance to many of the cities attractions.
