Located opposite to the Jackson square and overlooking the mighty Mississippi river, the Washington Artillery Park was the official training ground of Washington Artillery. The monument of the cannon is a model 1861 Parrot Rifle used in the Civil War. The training grounds were established in the 1830’s and mark an important chapter in defence training in New Orleans. Today the park is loved for its view and for the monument which overlooks the gorgeous river.

Washington Artillery Park And Moonwalk, New Orleans Reviews - Write a Review
Great views of the Mississippi. Places to sit but there are some intimidating local men that the police ignore but should be removed. Ignore them and their insults.
Bag pipe guy is awesome, around sunset usually.
This is one of the best views in the city. You have a 360° view of Jackson Square, the St. Louis Cathedral, Cafe Du Monde and the Mississippi River. Great place to snap some selfies and make your friends jealous!
Cool place next to the moon walk and is a little spooky swear I saw. A ghost would recommend this park
Great place to unwind at the end of the day
