Brooklyn Bridge - Review
The bridge is one of the most famous and magnificent landmarks in New York. It connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. This is one of the greatest engineering feats of the 19th century.
The impressive bridge spans the east river between Brooklyn and Manhattan and stretches for a length of 5989 ft, about 1.8 km. The span between the large towers measures 1595.5 ft (486 meters). This made the Brooklyn Bridge one of the world's largest suspension bridges.
The two masonry towers, which the many cables are attached, are the most noticeable feature of the Bridge. It also offers a great view of the bridge's towers. For visitors, it is one of the best and convenient places to visit in New York. It would take a few minutes from the center of the city to reach the place.
An elevated pedestrian path not only gives you the opportunity to cross the river without being bothered by the traffic that rushes past a level below, but it also offers a great view of the bridge's towers as well as downtown Manhattan's skyline. The views alone attract millions of visitors to this bridge each year. Brooklyn Bridge is one of the tourist attractions in New York City Itinerary 3 days and 7 days in NYC trip plan. Brooklyn Bridge, New York City Reviews
I got the chance to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and it was an awesome and peaceful experience, which i might add was free. The view from the bridge and the bridge itself made for beautiful scenery. I didn't like the fact that some people kept blocking the pathway so at times i had to walk in the bike lane. Otherwise it was a nice experience. Next time I'll take better pictures.
A beautiful and busy bridge. The design is not only beautiful, but the many different people walking side by side on it. The unity. Stay on the walkway side if you're walking because the bike lane is dangerous. Many of the bicyclist are nice and gave warnings, but a few were true 'New Yorkers.' You can rent bikes to sight see too if walking isn't your thing. I heard a good recommendation so I'll pass it on...you can pay a taxi to get to one side and then walk back. It saves on time and in the sore legs of walking the entire bridge twice. That's if your plans call to get back again the same way you came. The pictures from the bridge are great too. Love the black and white one.
After a fabulous dinner at Juliana's we walked back to Manhattan across Brooklyn Bridge. We were walking at dusk and it was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend anyonw going to NYC to ensure they do this at night. They views are spectacular. It is a bit narrow in places as the walking path is shared with a cycle path. The cyclists take no prisoners, and zoom across the bridge, so need to keep your eyes open. It is such a memorable experience.
So glad a friend recommended that we walk the bridge. I have been to New York so many times, but haven't done this part until now. And it was worth it. We did not do a guide or anything, just walked it at our own pace, and took in the beautiful view. Go on a nice day, like we did, and you'll see way passed the Statue of Liberty and the beautiful skyline on both sides of the bridge. Worth it!
My time was excellent there! Imagine, walking from Brooklyn NY to Manhattan - across the bridge that connects to the two! It was awesome!! I'm impressed with the fact that I was able to see security personnel on the bridge keeping an eye on things. It's really a good tourist attraction. I got to read the various plaques to learn more about the bridge itself and some key figures from the past. A big thumbs up for the planners.
