About Brooklyn Bridge, New York City
The bridge is one of the most famous and magnificent landmarks in New York. It connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. This is one of the greatest engineering feats of the 19th century.
The impressive bridge spans the east river between Brooklyn and Manhattan and stretches for a length of 5989 ft, about 1.8 km. The span between the large towers measures 1595.5 ft (486 meters). This made the Brooklyn Bridge one of the world's largest suspension bridges.
The two masonry towers, which the many cables are attached, are the most noticeable feature of the Bridge. It also offers a great view of the bridge's towers. For visitors, it is one of the best and convenient places to visit in New York. It would take a few minutes from the center of the city to reach the place.
An elevated pedestrian path not only gives you the opportunity to cross the river without being bothered by the traffic that rushes past a level below, but it also offers a great view of the bridge's towers as well as downtown Manhattan's skyline. The views alone attract millions of visitors to this bridge each year. Brooklyn Bridge is one of the tourist attractions in 3 day New York City Itinerary and 7 days in NYC trip plan. Brooklyn Bridge, New York City Reviews - Write a Review
Beauty of NYC. The bridge walk summarizes the beauty of the city. You can start the walk from Brooklyn, where you can walk by graffiti walls, where you have plenty of food choices (Shake Shack, pizza, Luke’s lobster rolls, sushi etc.) and also visit Washington Street where you find a nice photo setting too (Manhattan Bridge). Do choose a day when it’s sunny and not so windy or chilly. The bridge walk is not too long. You can take nice pictures too.
Must see! I loved walking across, especially at sunset! The lights from the Manhattan buildings paired with the pink sky is incredible. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's incredibly crowded, which makes sense since it's a major tourist destination. People will stop in the middle of the bridge to take pictures and you're trapped. But other than that, super fun.
On my trip to New York City, I had to experience the legendary Brooklyn Bridge. It did not disappoint. One of the world's most majestic & iconic bridges. It was a privilege to walk its entire length to Brooklyn and back again. I came on a late Saturday afternoon. It was packed with people, but there still was ample chances to stop and take in the incredible views. I waited until sunset to view the Manhattan skyline at night which was unforgettable. The cyclists weren't always happy with the tourists straying onto their lane, but it all just added to the colour.
Such a nice place to walk and hangout with mates. There are quite a few really nice viewpoints along the bridge as well. So if you happen to have a friend who is into photography, i would definitely recommend you take them here. Early morning just after sunrise and in the evening around golden hour will make for spectacular photos.
We took the subway out to Brooklyn and had lunch then walked back across the bridge. The views of the city are stunning. Lots of street musicians and artists - a lovely inexpensive way to spend the afternoon. I Loved this Bridge
