The bridge is one of the most famous and magnificent landmarks in New York. It connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. This is one of the greatest engineering feats of the 19th century.
The impressive bridge spans the east river between Brooklyn and Manhattan and stretches for a length of 5989 ft, about 1.8 km. The span between the large towers measures 1595.5 ft (486 meters). This made the Brooklyn Bridge one of the world's largest suspension bridges.
The two masonry towers, which the many cables are attached, are the most noticeable feature of the Bridge. It also offers a great view of the bridge's towers. For visitors, it is one of the best and convenient places to visit in New York. It would take a few minutes from the center of the city to reach the place.
An elevated pedestrian path not only gives you the opportunity to cross the river without being bothered by the traffic that rushes past a level below, but it also offers a great view of the bridge's towers as well as downtown Manhattan's skyline. The views alone attract millions of visitors to this bridge each year. Brooklyn Bridge is one of the tourist attractions in 3 day New York City Itinerary and 7 days in NYC trip plan. A sight to remember. What a beautiful bridge holding two views of old town and new city of New York at the same time. An historical structure yet a treat for the eyes. There is a pathway to walk through the bridge on the upper deck. Manhattan bridge can be seen from the top and many other landmarks. This is located on 10 mins walk from world trade center station.
Walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan along the bridge and it was a nice and easy walk. Waking this direction is great as you'll see the great views of the Manhattan skyline. The walk way can get a little narrow at some points so you'll need to make sure you're not waking in the bike lane as the local bike riders ride out fast and night but you. As a tourist walking the bridge is better than riding it.
Best enter from the city hall side. Walkway is above the road traffic. There are bike paths so need to step aside as couriers can really pedal fast. Awesome views of New York from both sides of the bridge. Once in Brooklyn there are more places of interest nearby (Fulton State Park affords an excellent view of Manhattan).
The beautiful place for walk. One of the best places for the review of New York. Excellent opportunities for photographers, artists for the choice of subjects of city and river landscapes. It is a lot of beautiful places for a photo of weddings and various events. Walk on this bridge with beautiful views brings pleasure, health and excellent mood. The mass of impressions and pleasures from visit of this ancient and beautiful place - one of the main symbols of New York.
Iconic New York City piece. A must see when you're visiting New York. Great picture location but remember there are gonna be a lot of people so don't mind them getting in your shots. Good exercise route. Walking from Manhattan to Brooklyn and visa-versa. Great views of Manhattan skyscrapers too.
