Brooklyn General Store Reviews & Ratings
Such a cute store with fantastic inventory! If you are looking for a cheaper option, this might not be best. However, if you are looking for something high quality or unique, this is the place! Lots of very nice yarn, beautiful fabric and sewing details. The only drawback is that I have had less than welcoming or friendly customer service experiences. People have been helpful when I have asked, but not particularly friendly and they always seem a bit annoyed to be pulled away from whatever they were doing. That being said, this is still one of my favorite craft stores in Brooklyn.
The variety & quality of their merchandise is first rate, let there be no doubt! Unfortunately for me, I have been able to visit only during an Event, when the already tight space is jammed & elbows are being thrown. I haven’t visited on other occasions because it’s not easily reached by public transit which is all I got - v. frustrating!
Wonderful store amazing selection of yarn, knitting supplies and fabric. Very helpful staff.
Cute place with helpful staff and a huge selection of all types of yarn.
This is a knitters paradise- but the customer service is a different story. I was very interested in making a sweater and there were two employees. The younger one asked the older employee to go for lunch and stopped me while she was helping me and asked me to wait. She told me that the one helping me had to go for lunch but she herself shows no interest in helping me. The gal helping was very sweet and knowledgeable. She also has her own hand dyed yarn at the shop and was a pleasure to work with. But the other younger gal was quite rude.
