Circle Line Cruise, New York City Reviews

  • My 2-year-old loves boats and we wanted to take him to experience it somewhere around NYC. We booked through circle line sightseeing for Liberty Cruise which is around 1.5 hour long as we wanted to try shorter one first time with our toddler. It was narrative tour and the guide was great, very insightful and funny. We took standard option, there is another one which is premier which gives you access to the upper most deck on the boat and certain beverage and food options are included. Standard option will give u access to 2 levels on the boat and there is little cafe from where you can purchase food and beverages. I would suggest to go for liberty tour if you have kids as its shortest option they have and it has great views around Lady Liberty. Staff was good, very careful about safety of the passengers. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • The tour guide announcer was amazing, that was the best part. We got the Premium pass which had better, padded seats on the port side facing Manhattan. It was however still pretty hot on the upper deck on this August day. Skipping the long line made the Premium pass worthwhile. The crew was somewhat disorganized but not not in an unsafe way. Reasonably friendly. Stellar views! Definitely worthwhile.

  • I did not enjoy my experience. I went out on the decked out sunset party cruise. The boarding process started very late. we did not start boarding until 8:45, this meant the boat didn't leave the dock until after 9:30 (was supposed to board at 8 and leave at 9). Once on board, we had made our way to the upper most deck, ordered a drink from the bar and were enjoying the scene. Prior to departure, security comes up and kicks everyone off the top deck claiming "were changing things up, this is now the bottle service area only". I understand exclusivity, its very prevalent in NY but it was not stated prior to buying tickets that certain area's of the boat would be premiere access only, if i had known ahead of time i would have chosen a different party boat. Secondly, no one cards on this tour so there is a lot of underage drinking. Lots of pot being smoked on board which is an illegal activity, however security does not stop it, they allow it to happen. I get that a lot of people do it however i am a military officer and am very uncomfortable being exposed to pot fumes because i get randomly drug tested. If you get randomly drug tested, this is not the cruise you want to be on. There are positive points, the music was great and the views are amazing. Its an overall sloppy operation that could be great with some adjustments.

  • We took the Landmark cruise as it seemed best value for money and it really was. An excellent way to see the New York sights without any stress of the busy streets. The guide was giving commentary throughout the trip but was difficult to hear out on the deck the back of the boat... however prefer that to it blaring out of speakers... you could easily move further to the front of the deck if you needed to hear. Ride was smooth and slowed perfectly so you could get some great photos. Boat was clean, spacious and equipt with a bar, hot food and large rest rooms (air conditioned)

  • Friendly tour guide and a great scenery. Really worth doing, especially on a warm day. Get out at stop 15 (red line) of big bus tours. Tip: buy for $ 54 a two day ticket with big bus including the river cruise. Stella beer turns out to be an expensive buy on board ($ 9 for 0.25 l) but tasty though.
