Built between 1901 and 1903, this building gathered a lot of attention, criticism and even more appreciation in the olden times. Built initially as the headquarters of Fuller construction Company, it was meant to be called Fuller building. But it came to be known as flatiron building because of the shape it was built in. It was also called as Burnham’s folly, after the architect’s name as it gathered a lot of doubts in people’s mind, due to the unconventional shape and building style. Situated at the end of Madison Square, this is definitely one of the attractions you should witness from at least outside- if you do not get access to the indoors of the building.

  • This neighborhood is thriving with culture and diversity. There’s a great park to sit and watch people and cars buzz bye the building is beautiful at any angle and there’s a bevy of rich history to contemplate. I highly recommend taking a break from your visit and sitting at the park and just enjoy.

  • If u have time and are walking around mid town, you can drop by flatiron building . I’m not sure if u can go in , but it is very pretty and an interesting building .. it’s also close to Madison park. If you have a wide angled camera , u can get some good shots . Empire is in the other side .. photographers will love this spot. Open up ur imagination and u can capture so many pics here .. good spot for things to do in NYC ..

  • I really liked this hotel. I'll be leaving tomorrow and before I forget, I want to say enjoyed my stay here. The location is great, about 10 minutes to Times Square. Penn Station at the corner which is easy transport to all Manhattan, and it's surroundings. Easy transport from and to JFK's airport. They serviced my room daily. My room was one of the ones that have been remodeled recently. Its was nice, no fridge, coffeemaker or other perks like other hotels but I there are plenty of stores and food stands outside including a pharmacy about a block away. It's also across from Madison Square Garden which also has a food court adjacent to it. The check in was a little busy, like other reviewers had said but it's not that they're inefficient, it's that they are on high demand. Once you're at the desk, it was fast and easy. They had like 5 people at least working at the desks so they're efficient I'm telling you. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The biggest perks, clean room, private bathroom and the most important, the great location. Awesome! Thank you Penn Hotel staff.

  • Viewed through the roof of the NY BIG BUS TOUR, the Fuller Building known popularly as the Flatiron building is an urban Juxtaposition, an architectural intervention responding to the triangular format of the site at 175 5th Avenue... The architectural massing of this urban icon is a breathtaking sight... my aim is to experience this mesmerizing view on foot during my next visit

  • I gave a review last Christmas about Madison Sq park, I should have included the Flatiron bldg just across the street. One of the first industrial age skyscrapers in the world. This building is under renovation, all floors. The exterior is still just as photogenic
