Gramercy Tavern, New York City Reviews - Write a Review
PHENOMENAL! If you're looking for fancy flatware and tablescapes fit for a king with great food and reasonable prices, check this place out! A brand new twist to wood burning grilled food. When you walk in they immediately treat you like you're a VIP whether you are there to eat or grab a drink at the bar. The grilled lamb was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. For dessert, I recommend the cherry cheesecake pie, TO DIE FOR! It's like cherry pie and NYC famous cheesecakes married themselves and had a baby! DELICIOUS! The prices are reasonable for the serving of food and you don't tip your waiters/waitresses because it's included on your bill. This isn't just another restaurant, it's an experience! Check it out!
Everything was delicious. The grilled calamari perfect and Wagyu meatloaf hits the spot. If you like goat meat then you’d like the goat meatballs. You can expect to have top notch service. Although it seemed like our waiter was in training! These guys are on the ball when to comes to keeping your water glass filled and offering you bread. I will be back for the tasting menu. The only thing that was kind of missing for me was some sense of organization with the ambiance. It just seemed really hectic with the bar and people running back and forth in the Tavern.
Tremendously polished service and very good but not amazing food. The no tipping policy hangs over everything they do. It's announced by the menus and the people who confirm the reservation and on the website. 3 courses and nothing tasted like somebody loved it. One taste carried through the whole meal. Acidity. Its the only taste I remember. Their spunky somm Steve is a blast. Order a bottle from him if you can.
No surprise the restaurant has a Michelin star - it possesses all qualities for that. Service, interior, food strike high scores. Yet, it is even pricier than this type of restaurants at the finest European resorts. Vegetable ingredients are of exceptional taste. Lamb is juicy, you'll savor the flavor. My personal preference is less salt in tomato salad and less finical communication style. Isn't it great to enjoy finest food at ease? :)
Great food and amazing cocktails. Eat at the bar for a less expensive but still delicious meal. Easily the est restaurant in Manhattan. Highly recommended!
