Spread across a huge area of around 16 acres, the Lincoln center theater is a complex of a number of theaters including the venue for organizations like New York City Ballet (David H. Koch Theater), the New York Philharmonic (David Geffen Hall) and the Metropolitan Opera House. The whole center was opened in the early 1960’s as a part of the Lincoln Square Renewal Project and today is one of the most respected venues for performing arts in the world.
Do take some time to walk around the building and see the architecture along with the Charles H. Revson Fountain in the courtyard. Evenings bask the whole center in warm lightings that add to its magic. The center is also used by other resident art organization including the Film Society of Lincoln Center known for the New York Film Festival, Juilliard School and the School of American Ballet among others- making the perfect venue to catch up with the booming arts scene in the city.
