Huge NY Rangers fan, so was looking forward to visiting MSG (had been there before as a child) again. Paying $100 for each of our 3 seats would have been OK, except for the following: 2 guys were in OUR seats when we arrived, and there was no usher anywhere to help us sort it out. They really didn't want to leave (it was obvious) but were in the wrong section, so we had to screw around with that for a few minutes before even getting to enjoy the game. Then, the FOOD is EXTREMELY overpriced.. cost me $64.50 for 3 (small) burgers, fries and drinks. Ripoff! At the end of the game (for some unbeknownst and inexplicable) reason, they TURN OFF the escalators, so you have to walk down the entire 5 flights of stairs, on non-moving escalators...?? Seriously? Could anything be LESS ACCOMMODATING to your guests than to do something like this? I was really looking forward to an excellent experience at this world-renowned arena, but I guess not. As others have pointed out, this experience is no longer for the Average Joe at these prices. It's a shame an average person can no longer afford to see a sporting event without mortgaging his home... oh well.
Be aware of no drinks and foods allowed from outside. And if your water bottle is made by metal, it is not allowed as well. Therefore, I hind my water bottle in the CHASE ATM room and throw my delicious burger away. So sad. As you know, food in the square is not so well la. But the experience is awesome. Only the best in class can perform in this world class level stage. I do enjoy the show. Sadly, there is Elton John and bill burr this week. No NBA this time. I will be back.
First time at this place and it's actually very nice after the redesign. They have a good alcohol selection the hot dogs are pretty tasty and the seats are comfortable. It helps that the train station is right below the building so public transport is really easy.
It's THE GARDEN!!! A huge, amazing place to see a concert. Nice VIP lounge, staff was great and the food was good. Nice for groups. Staff was professional and helpful all over the venue. One problem: We couldn't take the elevators after the show, plus the escalators were stopped so we had to take the stairs all the way down many flights of stairs. Dangerous for someone like me. This said, I still love attending the events at the Garden.
The Garden gets five stars (although some food/drink stands were closed -and the entrance to Penn Station was closed after the concert.) Majestic older facility. Clean with comfortable seating. Saw Josh Groban. Concert was very good. He has a beautiful voice. Could have done without the potty mouth from another performer. Not necessary. For me, it subtracted from her performance.
