Mahji, New York City Reviews - Write a Review
This Korean super trendy place is a place you should definitely visit. It’s perfect for dinner, cosy and nice. The staff are so nice and polite, keeps refilling your water all the time. We tried the fried spicy chicken wings. At first we got it a bit cold, but the waitress took it back to the kitchen and gave us a new one. Then it was absolutely perfect. Delicious and super spicy, hot and crispy. We also tried another dish with sweet potatoes noodles, which was really good as well. Definitely we’ll go again.
We came here for the wings. I mean - it's a Korean Wings joint! But, pretty disappointing on the wings. As soon as you pick them up, you notice how light they are. Why so light? Well, because they're SO SMALL! Visually, they seem normal-sized, but that's just a trick. It's the batter that puffs them up -- there's barely any meat on these babies! And I do mean babies - I don't know where they found these miniature chickens with little prepubescent wings, but clearly they needed some more time to grow up... and maybe work out in the gym and buff up a bit.
Finally a good Korean place in Williamsburg, accompanied by a great staff and well decorated space. Wonderful cocktails and delicious food. The flavor of the chicken is literally mouth watering. Nice vegan options too such as vegan japchae and clay bowl veggies.
Layed back environment with nice bar.and friendly staff. The cocktails are inventive. Spicy and garlic chicken wings were flavorful and so very crispy. We loved it.
The server was working alone, I suspect that's why he was rude to us. But I can't explain why he would say the specials don't exist - when we asked what the happy hour special was he said they don't do happy hour. Then we referenced the Monday special posted on yelp and on the website, he said that ended "two days ago". The dumplings were run of the mill. The wings were good, boneless was a bit dry and I would have liked a dipping sauce. The evening was slightly redeemed when the server decided (late in the meal and after declining) to honor the posted special. I don't think I need to come back here and considering the options in brooklyn, I wouldn't recommend visiting.
