St Francis Xavier Reviews & Ratings
The priests there are amazing. How they teach about our Lord Jesus Christ is like no other. Their knowledge of the original meanings of the language of the Bible clearly shows in their sermons. Their outreach to the immigrant communities are the best. The parishioners are all friendly and there is an overall welcoming spirit
Very beautiful church and quite huge. I went there for my son's graduation from HAP ( High Achievement Program). I haven't been here for a Catholic Mass, but being a Jesuit run parish, I could just imagine the great homilies that come from these scholarly men.
So they serve brunch on Sunday's at 12:30. Line up by the fence and wait for a ticket. Food is delicious. Keep walking after you get your tray if you want hot coffee. Even a place to charge your phone if you want. Very caring people who will look after you like your at a restaurant. After eating, take a look inside this amazing church. I never knew such a beautiful church was near Union Sq.
I miss that church so much. When I used to live in Manhattan I discovered this church close to my place. I loved the atmosphere, very welcoming and very open minded. The "young" priest is amazing and the choir too. It makes a big difference. Go experience it by yourself!
I visited this church for the 12:05 service on the feast of the Assumption of Mary. There was organ music with a Cantor. The Eucharist was offered under both kinds. The pastor was friendly, and gave a concise and clear homily. Attendees are invited to introduce themselves to those seated nearby at the start of worship.
