St Thomas Church Reviews & Ratings
It's a wonderful place to get away from the bustle of the city. When they are not conducting a service/event, it is silent inside, which makes this a perfect environment to reflect and pray. There is ample seating. There are hymnals, Bibles, prayer request cards, donation boxes, and printed sermons available. The construction architecture is of quite fascinating design, and the building is impeccably clean. Well worth the visit if for no other reason than the ability to pray in a quiet environment.
The building is a feast for the eyes. Marvelous music. Great experience worshiping here. Ushers and clergy were very welcoming. Good sermon; beautiful liturgy.
St. Thomas on fifth avenue is a most beautiful church. Upon entering, you realize just how big and lofty it is. The rose window over the main entrance is particularly breathtaking, especially when it is illuminated in the daytime. We came for Sunday morning services as well as Evensong; there was a guest choir from Philadelphia that sang both services, and it was wonderful. The guest choir director also gave a great organ concert on the new organ after Evensong. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful church.
Choral Eucharist soothes the soul. The music and the message are excellent and the cathedral itself stunning. Members were kind but didn't engage visitors much during coffee hour after.
We came in the summer when there was a visiting choir from Dublin, who were very good. The sermon was informative and the welcome was brilliant. We stayed for the tour which was a great idea and we learned a huge amount about the history and the architecture of this lovely church.
