Wah Fung Fast Food, New York City Reviews - Write a Review
Best deal in Chinatown! This is definitely a cheap eats worth checking out. You get a small box of rice with roast pork or chicken and veggies for $4. How can you beat that?! You can substitute rice for noodles. The roast pork is really tasty and authentic. They also give you a heaping and generous portion worth your money. You can also get roast duck here. They have large rice boxes which are also quite a steal! A lot of times there may be a long line out the door, but if you don't mind waiting a little bit then you'll be in for a treat!
Probably one of the worst places I've ever had for Crispy pork! I would NOT recommend this place by any means! Have no idea why everyone's losing their minds over it! Could be to do with Mike Chen that went here and said it was good?! (He has no clue what he's talking about). This place is EXTREMELY average. The crispy pork itself is NOT crispy and leathery/chewy. The only thing decent is the duck itself...which is still just a standard in comparison to other restaurants! There are definitely better places than this...the ONLY reason as to why people might come here is probably due to the incredibly low price! But hey, you get what you pay for! For whoever that actually knows their food..this is NOT a good place to go to...it's just a cheap feed.
$4 small roast pork rice, nuff said. Right amount of juicy fat and sweet roasted flavor crammed into one box with rice and veggies. Just know you’ll need to wait ten or so minutes, even if you’re lucky enough to arrive when the line isn’t out the door. Service slow inside with only the boss doing all the orders. Roast pig isn’t too good, too soft and too much fat, plus it costs 50 cents more with less portions.
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the wait time was about 15 minutes. Ordered their $4 roast pork on rice special. It also comes with steamed Chinese cabbage which was a bit overcooked but was still pretty good. Roast pork was flavorful and tasted authentic but did not wow me. Some pieces of the pork were a bit on the skinny (with no fat) side and some had a great skinny pork to fat ratio. Definitely worth the $4 and would have to come back to try their crispy roast pig.
I love any combination of roasted pork, duck or chicken. Ask for more sauce if you order the large portion. The food is very fresh and warm. You get a huge amount of topping. The line always looks long, but they are very efficient.
